The three woman all well into their twilight, planted pretty flowers and they carefully arranged tiny American Flags upon the graves of their fallen husbands. They met in the eighties, when their men were being honored for their ultimate sacrifice and they all became lasting friends.
They would later have brunch at the Rainbow Diner, where Bob a Vietnam Veteran, and talented short order cook, would fix them omelets with everything for free. Bob had long fallen in love with their Memorial day tradition.
The three women, soldiers in life, would later cry together, and then laugh at each others tears. They would finally return to their simple homes, tired, alone, and still afraid- still brave.
